Rising star Chrissy Chlapecka took Nashville into her orbit as she brought her Girl on the Moon tour to Nashville this June. The End took on her intergalactic femme diva aesthetic as the venue transformed into a magical planet full of glitter and positive energy. Fans adopted her brand of confident and avant garde fashion for the show, creating a warm and welcoming culture as they all chatted with each other before the concert. The show opened with pop punk singer Slajer, who joined Chrissy’s band later on in the evening. He brought the high energy the crowd was vying for as they anticipated the headliner. His clever mix of covers interspersed with his original music kept the audience fully engaged, and by the end of his set they were completely won over by his stage presence. Two local drag artists, Miasma Vonclatter and Cosmo Cullen, took to the stage after Slajer, performing to universally loved campy pop songs to add a finishing touch of fun before the headlining act.
Chrissy Chlapecka then made her grand entrance, making the intimate venue feel like a stadium as she stepped on stage. She used the stage to her full advantage as her two backup dancers used whimsically hand-painted crates to create stairs and platforms for Chrissy to perform on. The use of choreography and costume changes helped keep a refreshing sense of momentum throughout the set as well. Although she warned the audience of a weakened voice that evening, Chrissy delivered vocals that rivaled those of her recorded tracks. Fans also eagerly shouted back lyrics, even to songs from her recently released second half of her record Christine. Fan favorite songs such as ‘Head Bitch’ and ‘Passionfruit’ also brought the entire audience to their feet as they practically sang these songs in place of the artist. Chrissy proved herself as a performer during this show, dominating the stage and further winning over the hearts of her fans.
