Though one of her biggest hits might tell you to “leave” and “get out,” no one would be mistaken in the observation that JoJo drew quite a crowd. The pop star packed out Nashville’s Marathon Music Works, proving she is the same artist she always has been. A full-stage setup, complete with platforms and a healthy dose of lighting and effects, stood as a reminder of the scope capital-P pop music is known for. She entered the stage with a swagger and a palpable energy that seemed to burst from somewhere within her. Right from the beginning, JoJo owned the stage in a larger-than-life bedazzled sweatsuit fit for the diva she is. Launching with a slew of hits that audience members could sing along with every word, the show set off with a bang.
Only one or two minor hiccups occurred in this strong start, and they would likely have gone completely unnoticed had JoJo not taken a few words to address them. Unsurprisingly, there was a dramatic costume change to kick off the second half of a 2000s nostalgia meets the modern world. Re-emerging from behind a fully lit curtain and stage, JoJo kicked off what would become the big finish to the triumphant kickoff of her 2025 tour. Sandwiched between her hits and new material, JoJo included some “songs I wish I’d written” and featured some new friends. Joining JoJo first, was an audience member who seemed to have the time of his life followed by Breland, an established newer artist who caught her ear. To round out this masterclass in performance, presence, and style, JoJo sent the crowd home wanting more. As cries for an encore lasted at least five minutes, the stage remained silent leaving one to ponder if JoJo had truly “left it all on the stage.”
