Though they may be called the Two Lips, make no mistake, best friends Jewlz and Andrea speak with one, distinct voice. The LA-based duo formed in 2023 and started making music in their bedrooms, finding inspiration in scenes from movies where they would think about how music could fit in. Working as a duo, in their own words, gives them a “yin and yang” balance that can be heard on full display in their complementary chemistry that enables them to “play off each other’s strengths and weaknesses.” Both Jewlz and Andrea cited keeping a sort of diary in the notes app on their phones so that they never lost their ideas. This relatable practice has led them to make songs about everyday events that almost anyone could relate to. Coming off their biggest hit, the Spanish-English blended “still love you (todavía),” which has amassed over 30 million streams on Spotify, they have had the opportunity to move their bedroom all over for excited fans.
The Two Lips have an elegant, refined, and dream-like take on the bedroom pop sound that they fully embrace and embody. Citing a mixture of musical influences, including Filipina culture’s encouragement of music-making on the whole, they pull from a variety of musical spaces. Visually, they pull from their general perceived “vibes” that they present in their own individual styles. The future is certainly looking bright as the Two Lips are slated to start a tour and release much more music. With a slot as an opening act for one of pop music’s biggest A-listers, Sabrina Carpenter, in their recent past, and many more opportunities to come, it is easy to see that these Two Lips are one act to watch!
