GIRLSET is more than a name, it’s a declaration. The four members return not just as artists, but as a unified set. Their debut single, “Commas,” is the first installment of this new chapter: bold, polished, and unapologetic. Girlset, formerly known as Vcha, is an American girl group formed by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records using the “KPOP” audition method and broadcasted as a reality competition show “ A2K “ in 2023. The group consists of four members: Camila, Lexi, Kendall, and Savanna. Unlike most artists rise to fame, fans were able to watch the girls in real time from the initial audition process to swearing in as official GIRLSET members on A2K. “We’ve honed our skills since then, like we’ve grown creatively and figured out what we want to be – back then it was all so raw, we’re still us but we’re just more polished.”  Their debut single “Commas” is the culmination of this fine tuning. GIRLSET intentionally and expertly ground their artistic identity in boldness and layer themselves into every aspect of the writing and recording process. Kendall revealed how inspired she is by Ariana Grande’s vocals. “For me, I love incorporating how Ariana Grande layers her vocals and that’s a way I incorporate my creativity and individuality into our music.”
This breakout project is a cross-cultural collaboration, working with American producers like Tommy Brown and Theron Thomas is a notable choice and fans are itching to know what the process was like bridging these creative styles. “It was amazing working with these western icons, being able to be creatively supported by such giants was amazing.”  The girls are clearly no strangers to collaborative efforts seeing as they function as both musicians and friends. “We each have our own skill set and strengths that we bring but we’re able to learn from each other and grow…Its important to us to represent our backgrounds – we are global girl group because we come from everywhere and we want to empower girls from all over.” When asked what infamous girl group they most identified with growing up the girls unanimously agreed Fifth Harmony. Kendall was passionate about talking about their influence on her due to the heavy Cuban representation from artists like Camillia Cabello and Lauren Jauregui. “They meant so much to me growing up, because I looked at them and was like if they can do it so can I and I just can’t believe that I could be that for another girl out there.” In terms of redefining their sounds, while “Commas” does represent the group, it by no means is a limiter —or an indicator— of where their sound may take them. “our current releases can’t really define where our music might go.”  This upcoming era is about taking control of their creative direction. Utilizing colors like Red, Black, and White, the group subliminally messages power, confidence, and fearlessness in their visuals mirroring their bold reformation as a girl group.
