After months of planning, J. Graves finally got the chance to come to Nashville and play one of our most iconic venues, The Basement. They traveled all the way from Oregon to play us a short yet sweet set, which easily captured the ears of all in attendance. The energy that Jessa brought and her facial expressions that she had throughout the night brought an unexpected level of intensity to the music and four songs just wasn't enough. J. Graves truly is a passionate dance punk group, with groovy bass lines played by Lisa Haagen from 'Babers', fun drum fills by Aaron MacDonald, and an absolute love for music which can be heard as they play.
J.Graves was accompanied by the The whole band was grooving to the music, much like the crowd, they couldn't stop smiling at Jessa’s energy and connection with the music she played. J. Graves graced us with a setlist consisting of “Marauder” and “Go It Alone” from the ‘Fortress of Fun’ album. We also heard “South Pole” and ‘Cutoffs”, both songs are unreleased and they were insanely fun to hear. Even though it was the end of the night and there wasn’t a very big crowd, J. Graves put everything they had into performing and it didn’t go unnoticed.
By the end of the night, everyone who had heard them was asking for their socials and the man running the venue even asked them to come back. J. Graves is a band that is full of fire, passion, and dancing beats and they quickly stole the heart of Nashvillians. If you have a chance to catch them live, it's an experience you’ll carry with you, long after they have played their last note.
