On Monday night, rising shoegaze outfit she’s green graced the stage at Nashville’s Basement East, priming the audience for indie rock favorites and headliner, Slow Pulp. She’s green, hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, has quickly become popular within the shoegaze scene and has become a new favorite within Nashville. High on the release of their latest EP, Chrysalis, they delivered an electric energy that proved they are here to stay. Bathed in very apt green lighting, the band began playing the first notes of their opening song, "Graze," off the Chrysalis EP. Immediately, the crowd knew that they were in for an atmospheric experience unlike any other. The hypnotizing interplay between guitarists Liam Armstrong and Raines Lucas was captivating, laying the groundwork for the nostalgic sound of the band.
Vocalist Zofia Smith gave a dreamy performance, with the tranquil quality of her voice perfectly complementing the tender melodies from the guitars. The connection between drummer Kevin Seebeck and bassist Teddy Nordvold was palpable, as the crowd was dancing along with them and their instruments. The band played a mix of favorites such as “Mandy” and “smile again” as newer tunes from Chrysalis. They even played an unreleased song, which has yet to be named. Through these songs, the band showcased their unique knack for balancing experimentation, vulnerability, and intensity, making the audience unable to look away. She’s green was the perfect opener for headliner Slow Pulp, as the energy they brought to the stage had the crowd dancing and singing along. She’s green gave Nashville a mesmerizing performance that the audience will not soon forget, and cemented them as ones to watch in the shoegaze and indie space.
