Indie darling Indigo De Souza turned Nashville’s Basement East into their own magical world on April 4th. Embarking on her Precipice tour, aptly named after her latest record from the summer of 2025, De Souza curated a beautiful set for the evening, highlighting songs from her latest release along with pieces from across her discography. Before De Souza’s more subdued and introspective set, the show was kicked off by an equally cathartic but much dancier set from opener Mothé. Mothé emphasized the pronunciation of their name throughout the show (“pronounced ‘moth,’’ like the bug with an ‘e at the end”), so much so that the audience was able to voice back her frequent spiel with complete accuracy every time she performed the bit. Mothé ensured that no one would forget their set, especially with the infectious dance beats that had the crowd on their feet. Indigo even joined in to sing their song ‘Serious,’ which got the audience even more hyped as they got an impromptu glance at the headliner ahead of her set.
De Souza then took the stage and the audience locked in to their every word as they started their set with ‘Be My Love,’ the first track from her most recent album, Precipice. De Souza was perfectly chatty with the audience in between every few songs, revealing things such as her love for pop music and how that impacted her latest record. She even promised her longtime fans that her upcoming music would return to the sad girl vibes that her older music had. Indigo’s voice carried beautifully throughout the venue, and fans sang along to every song, even shedding some tears through their hard hitting songs. She switched from playing guitar for some songs to simply lending her voice and whimsical stage presence to others. The artist and audience both created an atmosphere of positivity and enchantment, making for an exceptional concert-going experience and wonderful show overall.
