Amber Mark is already an established figure in the rhythmic pop music scene who is predicted to be moments-away from going mainstream. With this °1824 press conference, we had the opportunity to speak to the unboxable songstress with jaw-dropping vocal capabilities who effortlessly bubbles from soul-soaked-seventies dance tracks, into relaxed and introspective R&B beats. Her newest album “Pretty Idea” is set to be her biggest yet — and is set to release as she shares stage with one of the biggest pop-stars in the country. Amber Mark will be opening for Sabrina Carpenter on the final stops of the Short n’ Sweet Tour, where she'll perform multiple sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden and more. The project “Pretty Idea” represents a transformative journey for the artist, who describes it as turning her "bad ideas into pretty ones." This album taps into a spindly vein of romantic vulnerability as Amber gleans wisdom from the rise and fall of a long term relationship and ushers in the dawn of a new relationship with herself. “Artists love to talk about love” she says with a knowing smirk. “A lot of this album is about boys and the fantasy world I dreamed up, seeing a future with someone, and how reality hit.” This album is for the sex-and-the-city type girls who stay romanticizing their love lives from the subway station platform. Amber confirmed that if this album was a mixed drink it would be a bright pink cosmopolitan.--- but expect at least one song that reads more like a long island iced tea.
Amber wants the younger audience to lean into the themes of self growth, finding yourself, and being open to having an ever-growing-mindset. Amber was excited to share with Bell Music a soon to be released single in keeping with that theme titled “By the End of The Night” This track leans into the “silver lining approach” to break-ups. Instead of lamenting the past or dissing an ex Amber takes a mature approach rooted in self love and self actualization proudly proclaiming “By the end of the night, I’ll be dancing with someone new.” This track has all the modern funk elements that fans of Sabrina Carpenter’s "Espresso" are going to drink up. Amber is a well-known voice in R&B, gaining a dedicated fanbase from her previous album “Three Dimensions Deep”, but this new project pulls from broader sonic landscapes. “The initial inspiration for this album was yacht rock, but my heart always lies in this soft-up-tempo feel which is where all of the funk and soul elements come through.” Drawing on sounds from her unorthodox childhood where she moved from continent to continent — at one point spending considerable time in a monastery – you can hear the inspiration in her newest tracks like “Cherry Red” where she heavily draws on her youthful years spent in Goa, India. “I’m always carrying my childhood in my music whether I realize it at the time or not.” Amber rejoices in the writing process for this newest project “When I was writing this record I have become very close with the people that I write with, I normally get anxious writing with people but now that ive found this group of people where I feel comfortable being weird or my most creative-self its interesting to see what comes out when im free to be 100% me.” Well, from what we’ve heard so far, Amber’s ideas are more than pretty, they’re inspiring. “Pretty Idea” is set to arrive on October 10th 2025.
