After sitting down with Nathan Evans and Saint PHNX on behalf of °1824, it became apparent that they knew they struck gold the moment they first sat down to write together just a few years ago. Together they brought their latest collaborative album, Angel Share, to life. Before finding their sound together, Nathan Evans found near overnight success in 2021 when he began posting renditions of sea shanties online that resonated with a global audience. Saint PHNX, a duo of brothers, Alan and Stevie Jukes, are known across Scotland and beyond for their ability to combine traditional Scottish folk music with modern rock into hit songs. Evans’ and Saint PHNX’s talent for blending old and new made them a perfect musical match. They indicate as much when asked, saying,“...there is a sort of magic that happens every time that we’ve done something together.” It’s a collaboration with an unshakeable foundation. There is no ego, just a shared love of music and its creation. Their album, Angel Share is an amalgamation of all the things that shape them: love, grief, and a bit of whiskey. After writing their first song together, “Heather on a Hill,” the idea of making an album together became an unshakeable idea.
When it was finally time, they jumped into the studio and wrote most of the album in three short days before bringing their musician friends in for another four, rotating instruments and ideas until Angel Share found its final form. This casual, on the fly creative energy is what they are most excited to take on tour, expressing their desire for the atmosphere of their shows to mimic the casual, joyful experience of coming together with friends and loved ones at an old Highland pub. Despite the fast and loose creation of Angel Share, Saint PHNX and Nathan Evans are meticulous about the universe they created around this album. They want it to be immersive for the fans and for themselves. They want it to be more than, ”we’ve got songs, let’s go sing.” This dedication paid off when they sold out their local arena, the OVO Hydro, this past October – a bucket list item none of them can quite wrap their heads around. While few things can top a sold out hometown show, they are taking that excitement with them on every stop of their Angel Share tour from February to October of 2026. The group knows they have an unmistakably good thing going and cannot wait to build even more momentum as artists, creatives, and collaborators.
